Odgers Berndtson is an Executive Search company currently supporting in the recruitment of a Process Engineer for a Refining company specializing in the Lithium sector, that aims to build one of Europe's largest Lithium conversion plants, to be located in Portugal, with an annual production capacity of more than 30,000 tons of lithium hydroxide.
Main Responsibilities:
- The Process Engineer will play a key role in developing the refining process to manufacture Lithium Hydroxide. This involves contributing to the creation of the back-end Li refining process flowsheet, encompassing activities from leaching to lithium product packaging, such as precipitation processes, filtration, and crystallization processes.
- Support the construction, commissioning, and initiation of the hydrometallurgical section of the Li refinery.
- Evaluate, select, and optimize process techniques and technology options for the flowsheet.
- Engage and collaborate with equipment vendors and engineering companies.
- Challenge the methodologies and assumptions proposed by suppliers and engineering companies.
- Support the construction, commissioning, and launch of the lithium refinery.
Critical Success Factors:
- Experience in Lithium refining and processing, with hands-on expertise in constructing, testing, and commissioning leaching & hydrometallurgy facilities.
- Knowledge and experience in chemical processes, including precipitation and crystallization.
- Experience in operating industrial plants.
- Expertise in refining processes flowsheets, particularly in the realm of lithium refining.
- Ability to investigate and troubleshoot problems.
- Possess critical thinking and a problem-solving attitude.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
